Why measure AI answers at all?

Buyers increasingly ask an assistant instead of scanning ten blue links. An answer engine names two or three brands and moves on. Either you are one of them or you are invisible, and nothing in your SEO stack tells you which.

The problem

Answers are a black box

Google shows you a rank. An AI answer shows a paragraph, and you cannot tell if you are in it without asking the same question hundreds of times, on six engines, every day.

The trap

One check is a coin flip

The same prompt returns a different list at 9am and 3pm. A screenshot from a colleague is not data. You need many runs and an honest sample size.

The goal

A number the whole team shares

Marketing, content and founders need one score that goes up or down for a reason, with the prompt-level detail underneath for the people who do the work.

Visibility score

One score across your engines. Every prompt weighted by demand

Visibility is the share of tracked prompts where your brand appears, weighted by how often people ask each prompt and where you land in the answer. It is graded A+ to F so nobody has to remember what 63% means.

  • Per-engine breakdown shows where you are strong and where you are missing entirely.
  • Share of voice and average position put you next to competitors on the same prompts.
  • Confidence tells you how many runs stand behind today's number.
  • Compare competitors overlays their lines on your chart with one click.
What it gives you. one metric you can put in a weekly report and defend, plus the breakdown that tells you where to dig.

Askority tracks hundreds of prompts real buyers ask: comparisons, alternatives, best-for, is-it-worth-it. Each row carries demand, visibility, average position, mentions, citations and a grade.

  • Priority gaps surface prompts with high demand and low visibility, the fastest wins.
  • Expand a row to see the sources engines cite and the latest answer with your brand marked.
  • Score breakdown explains the grade: visibility, position and citation sub-scores.
  • Tag, pause, bulk-edit to keep the list yours as the category moves.
What it gives you. the exact list of questions to win, ordered by how much winning them is worth.

Topics

See the whole category, not one prompt at a time

Prompts are grouped into topic clusters. Each cluster carries a grade and a Leader or Gap badge. Open one and you get the rankings matrix: every prompt as a row, positions 1 to 8 as columns, real brand logos in the cells.

  • Leader / Gap badges tell you at a glance where you own the conversation and where you are absent.
  • Rankings matrix shows who holds each slot on each prompt, you outlined in teal.
  • Topic grades roll up to the overview so a drop in one cluster is visible from the top.
What it gives you. a map of the category that a new marketer can read in five minutes.

Citations and perception

Which sources the engines trust, and what they say about you

Engines cite pages. Askority shows which domains and exact URLs they cite for your prompts, split into earned, social and owned. Perception reads the tone: what AI praises, what it criticizes, with the real answer text behind every theme.

  • Domains and pages with citation counts, trend and the engines that use them.
  • Earned / social / owned split shows whether your visibility rests on your own site or on third parties.
  • Praise and criticism themes with occurrence counts and the sample answer that produced them.
  • Executions log stores every answer so you can audit any number on the screen.
What it gives you. the list of places to earn a mention, and the messaging gaps to close on your own pages.

Questions we get asked

How is the visibility score calculated?

For every tracked prompt we ask each engine every day and record whether your brand is mentioned, in which position, and which sources are cited. Visibility is the share of prompt runs where you appear, weighted by prompt demand and position. The grade maps the score to A+ to F.

Which engines do you cover?

Every paid plan lets you choose 3 of ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini for each project, and change them any time. More engines and Claude are paid add-ons. The Free plan measures ChatGPT.

How often are answers collected?

Every prompt is measured once a day on paid plans and once a week on Free. Twice a day is an add-on, and Enterprise can measure hourly. The run count is shown next to every number so you always know the sample size.

Do I choose the prompts or do you?

Both. We suggest prompts with real demand when you add a brand, you keep the ones that matter and add your own. Prompt volumes helps you find new ones later.

Which countries and languages?

Answers are collected per country you select, so a US and a DE view can differ. English first, more languages on the roadmap.

How is this different from an SEO rank tracker?

Rank trackers watch a list of links. Askority watches a generated answer: whether you are named, where, in what tone, and which pages the engine cited to say it.
